Children are the bright future of the nation. If any child is deprived of education because of lack of access to books, education materials or learning platforms, that future is compromised. Primary education particularly is a foundational part and it forms pillars of literacy, numeracy and intellect for an individual. However, it is unfortunate that a large part of our country’s young generation is yet devoid of this fundamental access to schooling. Harringtonganj Block of Ayodhya district in Uttar Pradesh is one of the areas in the country facing this grim condition.
The primary challenge faced by young learners in this area is the distance to local government schools. This, combined with the safety issues of girls leaving for far-off schools faced by the families, compel students to be engaged in child labour or domestic work rather than start their education journey with a good foundation. Even when students are enrolled in school, they are irregular at school and are uninterested in learning. Lack of a good foundation of literacy and numeracy often see these children not continuing mainstream education at all.
INDIAdoantes’ partner NGO SATHI has been running community learning centres in villages of Harringtonganj Block to ensure primary education for children. To provide better opportunities to more children, SATHI along with INDIAdonates aims to create community learning centres in Baswar, Kala & Niyamatpur villages in Harringtonganj block for 180 children.
The main objective of this campaign is to instill interest towards education and to attain this e-learning will be promoted as it has been witnessed visual presentation of topics helps children retain the data for a longer period of time. To ensure learning and interest among students, the campaign will focus on teaching and learning through digital mediums with the help of tablets that will be made available in the community learning centres, enhancing the learning environment and the retention capacity of the children. The goal is to provide children in rural areas the same learning experience as urban, private schools and thereby create a strong foundation and interest towards education that ensures them continuing education. Along with the children the campaign will further motivate the parents to encourage, support and take active part in their children’s education.
With your support, we can give these children a sustainable future. Your contribution of INR 2750 can completely change the course of one child’s life.
