Every year, over 500,000 migrants move to Delhi in search of better opportunities and eager to find stable work. According to the Economic Survey of Delhi 2020-21, a large percentage of these migrants, despite having education, face a harsh reality- they lack essential skills like computer literacy and communication, which are crucial for securing good jobs. Without these skills, their dreams of a better life remain out of reach.
Priya was one of them. After moving to NOIDA with her family, she completed high school but struggled to find a job. Employers wanted skills like computer knowledge, Excel, and basic English. She felt stuck, unsure if she would ever get a chance to succeed. Then, Priya joined a three-month career development program run by INDIAdonates and Social and Development Research & Action Group (SADRAG). Through hands-on training in computer skills, Excel, Tally, graphic design, and more, Priya found a new sense of confidence. With support in CV writing and interview prep, she was ready to face the job market.
Today, Priya is ready to embrace the future with confidence. Her journey is just one example of how this program is empowering young migrants to break free from the cycle of unemployment and poverty. With the right skills and training, they can unlock a world of opportunities, just like Priya.
By supporting this initiative, you can help these young people build brighter futures, fostering lasting change not only in their lives but also in their communities.
