DON BOSCO NAVJEEVAN SOCIETY

St. John Bosco (Don Bosco), a widely acclaimed priest cum educationist of the 19th Century, founded 3 societies to take care of the poor and abandoned children. All these societies are world wide organizations working in 132 countries of the world. Don Bosco Society began its work in India in 1906 and has now more than 333 centres taking care of the poor and abandoned.Our sole objective is to empower children and the Young at Risk with vocational and life skills. Our Center is an embodiment of the Don Bosco International Society.The Society in India has primary and secondary schools, colleges, formal and informal technical institutes, agriculture schools, social work centres, mass media cum communication centres serving different categories of children and the Young at Risk - Street children, slum children and drug addicts etc. We draw our inspiration from St. John Bosco (Don Bosco), a widely acclaimed priest cum educationist of the 19th Century.

 



Don Bosco Navjeevan - Guiding Principles

* Each and every person is created in the image of God. Everyone has the right to basic human rights.
Working with the poor and marginalized implies having love and concern for them and expressing your solidarity with them.
* The Christian teaching demands of us an option for the poor and marginalized who are neglected. Encouraging the young to undertake various activities for their all-round development.

Our Vision

1. Implementation of proprams that could transform the lives of children and young at Risk that would have a lasting impact.
2. Working with all children and the young at risk, especially those who are in great need of support.
3. Working with children and the young at risk through a participatory apporoach that takes into consideration their needs and aspirations and designing programs accordingly.
 

Our Mission

Since 2008, the Don Bosco Navjeevan Society in Chandigarh has been a catalyst for transformative change, passionately addressing the needs of the underserved. With unwavering dedication, we empower students through the remedial classes, help the underprivileged youth in B.A. completions and provide vital job training. Beyond academics, we prioritize holistic well-being, offering nutrient supplements and mental health counseling citywide. None of this would be possible without the boundless generosity of Chandigarh's citizens.
