Help Vijayawada Flood Victims: Support Children and Communities in Crisis

Summary

Navajeevan Bala Bhavan Society, an on-ground partner of INDIAdonates, works tirelessly to support street children, child workers, children in conflict with the law, those struggling with substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, disabilities, and those from marginalized communities. The organization currently provides full support to over 1,000 children across its four Child Care Institutions.

Recently, unprecedented floods in Vijayawada have severely impacted three of Navajeevan’s campuses:

• Chiguru Campus: This location has been hit hardest, with 180 children urgently needing relocation to safer areas within the city. Essential items like furniture, cots, bedsheets, computers, clothing, and books have been lost.
• Deepanivas: The ground floor is submerged, damaging furniture and personal belongings. While the 120 children are safe on the upper floors, they are without electricity and basic necessities.
• Neethodu: Here, 60 girls are struggling due to the ongoing crisis, lacking basic amenities and facing severe hardship.

The Navajeevan team is working tirelessly to distribute food and essential supplies to affected communities, including those in slum areas and rehabilitation shelters. However, the scale of the disaster necessitates additional support.
