As India struggles to fight the Covid pandemic, the situation has started worsening in rural India. Media reports suggest, North East India could likely become the next COVID hotspot. Particularly, Assam is witnessing an average case load of 5000 cases on a daily basis. The scale of severity gets even more critical in rural parts of Assam, primarily due to lack of proper health care facility. Donate for COVID 19 relief in Assam and Support rural hospital in Assam
Burrows Hospital in Alipurbasti, Cachar district of Assam close to Silchar, is the only fully functional health care facility in the sub-division. However, the rising caseload is making it difficult to provide the needs of its COVID patients. The Hospital has allocated 10 of its 70 available beds for COVID-19 patients and is likely to increase the number as the situation progresses. The hospital is working beyond its optimal capacity and is on the verge of being completely overwhelmed. The current active case in this small district is almost 2000 cases. According to experts monitoring the situation on the ground, the situation in the district is only expected to worsen further, Currently the hospital does not have an ICU facility and is in urgent need to set up a critical COVID care facility with some life-saving equipment.
Your donation can save lives of poor people in the district who mostly are tea garden workers and people from economically backward communities.
