Rani (name changed), a child with dreams filled in her eyes, completed her 5th standard with the help of an NGO, she wanted to pursue education further but due to unfortunate events her life turned upside down. She saw many adversities, right from being forced into prostitution to being in an abusive relationship. When she was expecting a child, she decided to leave this life and try to find something better for herself. INDIAdonates’ on ground partner, Rahab Center for Hope supported Rani on this brave journey. Rani is currently financially independent, in a happy marriage and raising her daughter in a safe environment.
Rahab Center for Hope works to safeguard the future of women in distress and foster their courage to fight. Rahab has been running a SAFE HOME for women in distress for the last decade. Over the years, they have provided shelter to over 100 women who had been trafficked, internationally and domestically, women who had been survivors of violence and abuse in any form and in general women who are in any kind of distress and need a safe space. At the SAFE HOME, Rahab provides the women with shelter, food, trauma counselling, education and livelihood support as well as assistance in repatriation, marriage and/or family counselling and Employment opportunities.
In the past few years, the pandemic along with other unavoidable factors have left the SAFE HOME without steady funding. INDIAdonates along with Rahab has launched this emergency campaign to ensure that the SAFE HOME remains operational for the next year.
