Summary

In the slums of Bhubaneswar, nearly half of school-age children drop out, and 40% are pulled into substance abuse, with some even at risk of trafficking.

It’s a haunting reality.

Centre of Social and Natural Resources (CSNR), INDIAdonates’ on-ground partner, is committed to changing this reality. By closely working with the youth in 40 slums they are attempting to channelize the youth in a different direction through the means of sports and arts. CSNR is engaging this youth in co-curricular activities like arts, crafts, debates, quiz, dance, and sports. A tournament is organised for them to showcase their talents – a series of competitions from within the slums to between the slums. Children actively participate in these competitions, enthusiastic about having a platform to showcase their talent and metal, and health competitions fostering a sense of purpose and boosting confidence. These activities and competitions have played a pivotal role in collaborating with Youth and redirecting their focus, staying in school, and set higher goals for life.

To host these competitions this year, CSNR needs your support for procuring art supplies, sports equipment, trophies and certificates, hosting the events, etc.

There are 1200 youth who want to take a different path after leaving school and substance abuse. But they need your support.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

i. Contribute Rs. 280 so that at least 1 child can move beyond

ii. Share the word with your friends, family, colleagues and ask them to contribute

One small step from you can make a big difference from them.
