In Odisha, the dreams of too many children are slipping away. The Odisha Economic Survey 2023-24 paints a grim picture— Odisha has the highest secondary school dropout rates in India, with 27.29% of children leaving school before completing Class 10. The situation is even more concerning in the Nimapada Block, where poverty forces many families to choose between education and survival. For those who do attend school, the journey is often fraught with challenges, leading to devastating dropout rates.
Imagine a child eager to learn but held back by the weight of poverty. These children, especially from low-income families, are five times more likely to drop out of school, their potential untapped, their futures uncertain. This isn't just a statistic; it's a call to action.
At INDIAdonates, in partnership with Jageshwari Jubak Sangha (JJS), we refuse to let these children fall through the cracks. We are working tirelessly to rewrite their stories by offering extra learning classes through our dedicated community tutors, the Sikshya Dutas. These passionate individuals understand the unique challenges these children face and are committed to providing not only academic support but also a nurturing environment where learning becomes a source of joy.
In the Gram Panchayats of Sainsa Sasan and Badasiribila, we are aiming to improve the education quality of 268 children aged 6 to 15 years. Through our initiative, these children—136 boys and 132 girls—will experience joyful learning in 10 community centers, equipped with everything they need to succeed. From educational kits filled with notebooks and stationery to new teaching aids and comfortable mats, we are creating spaces where dreams can flourish.
The impact of this intervention is profound. With the right support from Shikshya Dutas, these children will not only bridge the knowledge gaps but also find new hope & motivation to stay in school. The Shikshya Dutas will be trained with effective teaching techniques and materials, and regular monitoring will ensure the children are making progress. Your contribution will directly fund these tuition classes and educational kits.
By supporting this campaign, you can help provide 268 children in Odisha with the chance for a brighter future through quality education, giving them the tools they need to rise above their circumstances and achieve their dreams.
